It's never too late to learn a musical instrument. An easygoing and friendly approach in all lessons. Nurturing hidden talent with a passion for music. Exam and Performance opportunities, or just for fun. Classical, Pop or Musical Theatre.
I like to make learning an enjoyable experience, and provide a unique tailored plan for each of my students. The way I teach gives you two options; following the fast track, work intensive path to quick progression, or taking a slower route, learning through creative expression.
Music speaks in ways no one else can understand. Through wood and string, we as musicians can create the greatest magic of all. I am a violinist from Southeast Asia who has learned under the Japanese conductor, Shimano, who is currently studying in the UK.
I teach in a very relaxed and fun way which in y experience has always produced fast and quick learning. I can teach most styles of playing. If you just want to learn to strum and sing, thats fine. If you want to learn to play the fingerpicking or classical style that is also fine. I will tailor make my teaching to your needs.
I am passionate about helping children begin their music making journey, as well as providing advanced tuition to those who are already undertaking examinations, or wish to advance their current skill - this may include those preparing for school examinations, or university entrance auditions. I also welcome adult students to the studio.
I am not gonna teach you how to read music, I am not gonna teach you how to be unmistaken and play preludes but what I would love to teach you on the other hand is how to fell in love with music. How to define yourself with it. How to find your passion and your inner self in the beautiful world of guitar.
My approach can cater to all ages and abilities, as I aim to train the voice through both repertoire and exercises, finding the right balance for the individual pupil.
Technique and healthy use of the voice based on Janice Chapman (teacher's teacher) 's methods. Exploration of suitable repertoire.
I am a very patient and understanding teacher. Learning music or an instrument is a skill that can be very rewarding but requires a lot of hard work. Having been through the process several times learning to sing, play guitar, flute and piano and also music theory, I understand the need for encouragement and patience above all. Like learning a new language, in music, repetition is important.
I was initially trained classically, and although some may say that is a good basis, it was unable to help me sing any contemporary style. My initial training had created a sound that only suited classical and opera singing and I felt that I did not know my own voice.
Endorsed by leading Voice Coaches including the former New York Singing Teachers Association, Board of Directors, we continue to work with Tony and Grammy Award Winning Artists & Producers.
I can work with beginners and people with some previous singing experience. The focus of the lessons will be on the physical side of singing - performing. I'll show you how to "think" musically and approach singing as a "natural" medium for expression.
I am a creative teacher with a comprehensive and flexible curriculum. I have a good sense of humour too. I teach many styles to all ages and levels. I teach sight-reading, playing by ear (figuring out tunes, improvisation), composing, theory, music history, jazz, and prepare students for exams (if appropriate). My students smile a lot. I am a Montessori teacher.
I gather a few people together or individual people and i sing some songs with them making sure they have the right key to the songs and easier ways to sing it if it's too high or low
I like to work with my student's voices and develop their already existing musical qualities by honing and correcting technique as well as working on creating a charismatic and confident overall performance with artistic integrity.

My teaching methods are warm up excercises to gradually develop the voice. I base my classes on the level of each student I am always open to feedback because there is always room for improvement I want my classic to be enjoyable .
I suggest is we do an initial assessment lesson to find out where you are at and what your goals are, and we can work from there. I personally prefer to do vocal lessons one to one, and for an hour, as you will get more of an advantage out of it and more for your money.
Depending on the subject (musicianship or singing) and the age of the student/s the lesson might vary even significantly in content and structure. As a general rule, all lessons will focus on rhythm and pitching which are the essentials of a good performance. Focus on technique will be added to singers.

I like to set a certain song to teach my students. This way I can teach the techniques first and then teach how to implement them in the song of their choice. For example if I was teaching a jazz song I was so the techniques needed within the genre and then help them implement the technique. This way the student can see their own progress after each session.
I approach teaching each student differently depending on their needs. I am happy to teach people of all abilities and up to grade three on the piano. I try to make sure that every student leaves their lesson having learnt something and having had an enjoyable time.
