My teaching is to A Level students and those preparing for University. My methodology focuses on Metacognition, enabling students to benefit from identifying their own learning style and focussing on 'up leveling' their work so they understand what the examiner wants to see.
I teach my classes up to degree level. In my classes, I utilise a number of different strategies and approaches based on the learner's preference for learning (visual, auditory, etc.). The aim of my classes is to make the learning fun! Lesson structures include a brief introduction and refresher on the topic at the beginning.
I am able to provide tutoring on a wide range of social science topics such as: criminology, sociology, intelligence practice, health and social care, cybercrime, dissertation and thesis guidance, research methods, design and ethics, proofreading and general English language help, critical thinking and, critical and counter-terrorism studies. The level ranges from GCSE - Postgraduate.
My teaching and learning strategies include a step by step approach to building and developing students' critical thinking skills through the use of scaffolded work sheets and exercises that stretch and challenge them. With this approach my students and I continuously plan and review their work.
My classes will provide you with the knowledge and exam skills needed to achieve an outstanding grade.
I teach topic wise. Let’s say, we will be focusing on every topic paper/exam wise.
I offer tutoring for every GCSE subject, all humanity A Levels (English, History, Geography, French), and help with personal statements and mock Oxbridge interviews in any subject. Having just completed Uni, I feel I am very down to earth and understanding of the student's issues. I am a friendly and outgoing individual who knows all too well the stress that exams can cause.
I am a recent Cambridge history graduate with a passion for tutoring. I am proficient in modern and early modern history; my expertise lies primarily in British history, with the exception of modern American and European history. I can provide first hand advice on how to master exams (GCSE's and A levels), and how to write the 'perfect' essay.
Come to Reading for tailored-made sessions to improve your grades! 5 years experience in Politics, History and Sociology. I have a personal, enthusiastic approach to tutoring and help students find the fun within challenging subjects. - Which subject(s) do you teach? History, Sociology and Government and Politics - Tell me about your qualifications.
My main aim is to simplify each subject that I teach. I noticed when in school/college too much time was spent overcomplicating certain areas of education without being taught fundamental knowledge that was crucial to achieve high grades. I base my classes on two main objectives.
I provide GCSE level Sociology tutoring. I got an A in my sociology GCSE exam, now studying it at A levels. My lessons consist of working with the student by going through their syllabus and their weaknesses- this will include Practising exam techniques and questions, making sure they achieve the best grades possible.
I believe students should be encouraged to assess their progress and understanding regularly to fully comprehend the level they are working at and how we can work to improve this. I think that students should be confident in their learning and be open when asking for any help and guidance so that they can attain their academic goals and do their personal best.
I am a kind, committed and reliable tutor who has a strong track record of getting superb results. I specialise in helping children to prepare for the 11+ and Common Entrance exams. I'm also the author of Clever Comprehension and 11+ Vocabulary. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Entrance exams for private and grammar schools including the 5+, 7+, 11+ & 13+ exams.
I prepare notes for my students to take away and use for exam revision and also create lessons that are interactive and lots of discussions as well as practicing past exam papers. I give my students advice and tips on how to answer the more longer and complex questions as well as going through assignments given from colleges.
I have a systematic and creative approach to teaching and learning which enhances learning skills as well giving the students from GCSE to Masters level tools for getting the most out of the tutoring for high grades. I teach in a way in which learning becomes a joy.
I have found that the best approach to teaching is to know what exactly the student knows and understands. What are their strengths and weaknesses. Afterwards I can create a method of instruction dedicated to that student. I usually give lessons to other university students, particularly those in lower years than I. However I believe I could also help college students doing A-Levels.
