I am a current LLB Law and Spanish Student at the University of Edinburgh, and I offer tuition in Castilian Spanish to Secondary school level individuals. The way I work is by maintaining a strong focus on the student and their ability and confidence in using the language, as well as ensuring that they build a strong capacity for being able to accept information in the language also.
I have studied both French and Spanish at advanced higher level and will be attending university to study both languages as well as teaching. I have experience working in language classes with pupils aged 12 - 16 and maintain a positive and motivational attitude throughout all my work.
I am a passionate tutor of languages and am very dedicated to working with students to achieve their goals. My teaching methods are simple - working with basic vocabulary and building a great knowledge of the language. I also like to involve the use of online webistes which are a really good way of introducing a new language, especially to younger students.
The idea is to focus on the aspects of the language you would like to improve most (i.e. oral expression) and to make sure that the rest of the aspects are covered to a minimum (written comprehension, reading comprehension etc.).
I believe that students have to learn with their own methods always with the help of a guide that makes them see what is better and what is worse. I like to create resources that help them and that are creative.
My teaching method is about joining different areas of learning. Classes are developed totally in Spanish, with additional english explanations when needed. I use different tests for reading comprehension, and exercises for improving grammar, writing expression and speaking part, while putting special enfhasis on students particular needs.
Teaching is a great experience for tutors as well as for students and they both can learn a lot from each other. Effort is always rewarded and success needs dedication and time. The same applies to languages. I am more than willing to share my time and my knowledge with you.
The best way to learn a language is practice. Speaking, listening, some reading, and a bit of writing. I always try to make my classes interesting and as funny as possible.
I believe in starting by the basics including basic structure and vocabulary and discovering pleasure in learning a language before progressing into more thorough knowledge. Once you have a solid base in a language and understand how it works it's very easy to become a pro.
Usually, I have my classes on Skype because by doing it we can have a flexible schedule and it is also more stimulating. For our classes, I always use PDF documents that I personally make and write, based on different topics and/or grammar. This will save money on books! Nevertheless, I can also meet in person for one-to-one lesson.
I believe that teaches through games is the best way a child can understand fully without getting bored but having some fun
As a tutor I look at the students individual needs and make a lesson plan to reach specific goals. I like to practice vocabulary with students by discussing literature, music, film and travel destinations. For group lessons we can put together a short play and practice by improvising or rehearsing dialogue scenes.
I base my class on speaking and writing practice, conversations, different kind of exercises. Focus on the daily use of the language.
Hello! I am a young girl, graduated with a bachelor's degree two years ago.I speak five languages: Spanish, English, German, French and Catalan. My mother is French and that's why I have a bilingual French level, just like my Spanish. I love children because they give motivation to learn new things and it is easier to teach them.
I start off by finding out what your level of reading, writing, speaking and listening is and I would always adapt to whatever the student is doing in school or in lessons at that time. I would have a conversation (in Spanish obviously) about a topic to start off, then develop it by doing grammar exercises, explaining vocabulary, grammar and phrases.
In general, I would like to create a lesson atmosphere similar to that in which I started learning Spanish which is relaxed and friendly. The teaching methodology is simple and I believe should be kept that way at first in order to get the ball rolling in terms of finding comfort in the lesson and not feeling overwhelmed.
I base my lessons on what the students want or need to improve. I also adapt my teaching method to their learning skills .
Hello! I am an enthusiastic second year at University, with little experience working with children- but a big love for both teaching and the languages I've grown up with.
I adapt to each student taking into consideration their particular needs. My classes are organised depending on the linguistic skills that want to be achieved. I have experience teaching children and adults, mostly English/Spanish as a Second Language and supporting with Basque too.
I am a postgraduate of the Napier University in Edinburgh. I can teach you Spanish shaped depend on your needs or starting from the beginning with Vocabulary, Verbs, Spanish practice and writing developing a comprehensive methodology 1 to 1. We will be working on your peace.

I base my classes on getting to know spanish in a every day full and cultural manner, providing music and art as well as how to talk to people in Mexico.
When I relate with others I always try to use a peer education method because no matter who the tutor is, there is a sharing of information and knowledge from both sides. I tailor each class according to the needs of each student, identifying the needs of learners and, if necessary, adapting course content and delivery style to meet their needs.
My range of knowledge allows me to give classes to primary school, high school and university (degree level) students. My teaching methods will be designed bañancing the lerners's own characteristics and the specific subject (in the field of Spanish) to be taught.
I base my classes on conversation and interaction everything is taught in the language studied, hence (talking about something which is not always directly grammar) pupils can learn faster communicative skills
I can tutor Spanish students of various ages and levels, including GCSE, SQA and A-Level students. I like to have relaxed and informal classes were we will try to only speak in Spanish. We will cover the necessary content, but I will try to challenge students with extra vocabulary or give some tips on easy things that can be done to increase their proficiency.
I like to listen to my students and offer what they want. At first, I tend to explain the theory, but then I like to do past paper questions to prepare for the exam. I think practice makes perfect so in order to achieve good grades my students practice lots of questions to spot where they are going wrong.
It's crucial to find out what exactly the student is struggling with and work from there - whether they find the subject boring, irrelevant, or whether they're struggling with something more fundamental that they haven't understood in class. Once we work out why it is that the student needs help, I tailor my approach to make the lessons as relevant and helpful as possible.
My teaching method is tailored, as generally people show different levels in speaking, reading, listening and grammar. Overall comprehension will always be the main goal and added to this more emphasis can be done in some of the categories depending on the individual.
