I first start by checking the pupil's level. -If there are any core difficulties, we start again together to see where they come from them, and then only go deeper. -A fast look to the lessons, and then practice. -Once every 2/3 weeks, I usually plan a test to see if those difficulties have been overcome.
I am offering maths lessons for GCSE and A-Level students. I am very patient with my students, and I make sure they understand all the steps in each maths subject. I tend to focus on the subjects the student struggles with and simplify their approach.
The lesson revolves around student needs: • Exam preparation – we focus on understanding the content, then selected seminar topics and finally exam past papers. • Selected topic work – firm focus on one topic includes highlighting the essential workings and the applications of the course. • Project support – often students don’t know where to start.
Understanding is always better than memorisation. True depth in understanding eliminates the need to remember facts/processes/tricks/examples as much, which makes an exam a whole lot less stressful! (I talk from experience!!!) My aim when tutoring is always to foster this depth in understanding and not simply to get a student through an exam on their capacity to retain information temporarily.
When facing a problem, I ask the students questions so that they can gradually reach the solution on their own. I help the students understand everything they learn, so that they will find the next topic easier to study on their own. I encourage the students to go throughout the textbooks and discuss what they don't understand with me. My aim is to make the people I tutor independent learners.
I use a three step teaching process in my classes to create confident and independent learners. During my classes I firstly explain in depth how to approach different problems and show my students methods to solve them. I secondly create worksheets and activities allowing my students to practice, apply their knowledge and consolidate what they have learned.
Tutoring Approach SATs & 11+: Dr Puri mainly help students in solving sample paper questions. He helps students to develop technique to solve questions using short and long method (when possible). If the student is particular weak in a topic, a full lesson dedicate in confidence building in the weak areas.
My teaching method is such that I break down the topics into the most simplest way possible so that even the students who are struggling to learn would be able to learn. I'm very determined and passionate about helping others that I would not easily give up until the student fully understands a topic.
I prefer to do a lesson face to face rather than online. But if you only available online we can discuss further for an arrangement. Each lesson will be around 2 hours. My style is more to assist you to understand things you have learnt rather than teaching you a new one.
I follow an approach that is most suitable for your needs - Mix of notes and assignments to guage your progress and then corrective lessons to fill your gaps.
I am keen to get students up to where they need to be and I usually work best from material in books and going over exercises with students. I am also able to create exercises on the spot from may different mathematics topics.
My approach to tutoring is to consider every student as an individual and to make learning fun. I have a passion for the subjects that I teach and I try to enthuse my students too. A happy student is a more productive student and I endeavour to make my tutoring sessions a highlight of their week, rather than a chore.
My teaching method is based on explaining the topic first, clarifying all background knowledge and develop solid foundation about the topic. If it is about Maths, than I always explain how the formula is formulated. This approach is really helpful for all of my student and it also enables them to effectively understand the application of it rather than just cramming and applying it .

For our lessons I will prepare problems and exercises for you to solve during the lesson and some more to solve in your own time if you want to. In German I would like to talk in German throughout the entire lesson.
My tutoring style for younger students is to encourage them to have fun with studying, to make it seem less of a chore, and make the learning aspects easier. I like to mix up my lessons into 15-20 minute blocks for different topics, and also to make sure the student gets the most out of the session.
