My name is Desta. Born in Bangkok, I'm British-Eritrean and I've lived in Thailand, Barbados, France, the Ivory Coast, Jordan, Belgium, Brazil, Turkey & The Philippines.
My teaching method is to use grammar as base, but also focusing on conversation, pronunciation and popular expressions through a dynamic lesson. Also important to introduce the culture on which the language is based, comparing with other accents and familiariase the student with everything that involves Portuguese.
My objective is to have my students completely fluent in Portuguese as if they are natives from Brazil. I'll attend to all your needs and questions during lesson time and even after it, providing you with useful online notes about what has been learnt so students are able to have access to what happened in lesson even after months.
I don't like boring classes, so I always try to bring something fun to my classes. I usually use songs, videos or even cake recipes (which we eat at the end) to teach verbs, rules and general vocabulary. I also teach the language talking about our rich Brazilian culture, cause I think it's all linked and it's important to know.
I give lessons to younger children ( under 16) for gcses or just for basic conversational skills.
My method Generally, my lessons cover the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Nonetheless, I favour the communicative approach and I focus a lot on developing my students' speaking and listening skills. Grammar is taught in context, allowing learners to see how grammar rules can be used in speech.
My teaching method is based on discussion, and how I can help my students become more confident in speaking English/Portuguese. Usually I try to use as little books as possible, because I believe too many books confuse students who are trying to learn languages. I usually plan my lessons before hand, and organise them related to day to day teaching.
When it comes to teaching, I start with a bare-bones approach, covering the basics of grammar, syntax, vocabulary and oral expression, so that students can get comfortably with the lessons gained and learned, before moving on to a more advanced level, in line with what is currently taught at the standard AS/A-Level in secondary schools.
Hi, I'm Natalia! I offer Portuguese classes for Business, designed for students looking to develop their fluency and vocabulary, particularly for professional situations and doing business in Portuguese (Portugal/Brazil).
Presentations and summarising tasks along with essays and for portuguese, verbal/speaking lessons.
Every lesson I teach is completely bespoke - modeled precisely to the needs of the individual student. I specialise in helping students with whatever their ability is - they will find me comprehensive, challenging and full of helpful advice. My aim is to enable students achieve their goals and to give them genuine confidence in their own abilities.
I taught children in the past but I am open to teaching anyone of any age who has an interest in Portuguese and is wanting to improve. I ensure my lessons are interactive and dynamic instead of just throwing a load of information at my student. I believe that in allowing the student to take control of their learning and supporting as well as encouraging them to push themselves to improve.
My lessons will include introduction to portuguese so that my students can receive a first feel of the language and as we develop will be more intentive. My teaching methods revolve around attention to detail and persistence. After each lesson a work sheet will be provided. I believe we learn by practising.
My teaching method is a student-centred approach where I coach and facilitate your learning and your overall comprehension of Portuguese.
I am a very patient person so don't worry, you can get there! I base my classes on Live Chats; PowerPoint presentations; games; learning support via e-mail; online class discussions; simulations; if required, classes in person by the end of each level; others. I adapt the methods to the individual needs of each student.
Responsible and entertainer can create a easy learning environment, very pontual don’t worry you won’t miss a class I speak a fluent portuguese, normally I like to start a class with some reading to pull the portuguese alfabeth pronunciation.
A minha metodologia é simples: usar exercícios apropriados para cada nível, apostar na conversação, na produção de textos livres sobre assuntos que sejam do interesse da pessoa que tenho diante de mim, procurando manter o interesse da mesma. Isso é muitas vezes conseguindo aliando à componente meramente intelectual uma componente afectiva e humana.
I work with an expanded constructive method which is an associative approach trying to connect the student’s day by day life with authentic material and didactic book as reference. As the class is individual, during the class I pick up the situation that the student is in and, from there, I develop the class following the basic rules of grammar depending on the level of contact with the language.
Flexible, multi tasking skill with a strong passion of teaching. Possess good lesson planning and management skills tailored to the needs of each student. Ability to foster a strong sense of enthusiasm among non-native speakers. Comfortable working in a multilingual and multicultural setting. Familiar with modern teaching methods and techniques.
I would be a greater Tutor Because I am native, fluent to communicate Multi language and enjoy to share/Interact with others. I have no Experience on Tutoring but I have experience in Accountant/Cost Controller for Oil& Gas Companies, I studied Accounting & Finance at Polytechnic of Namibia University.
I always focus on what students already know and on their main difficulties. I can use books, videos or anything, according to preferences. Sometimes students feel sad because they don't understand something or they think they have doubts they shoudn't have.
I was born and raised in Portugal and I´m now in Bristol taking my Bsc in Biology. I teach Portuguese and I tend to shape my lessons accordingly to the student I have since every one of them is a different person and should be treated as such so that they can fully explore their potential in my lessons and in life.
Languages have played an instrumental part in my life since I was very young. Overcoming the challenge of being exposed to a new language and culture other than my native Portuguese at the age of six made my interest in languages grow.
Learning should always be fun. The teacher must find a way to get the students interested in what is being taught. Creating a connection between their interests and the lessons is key. Finding something that makes the lesson relevant to them.
I believe the best way to learn a language is to experience the culture. So alongside vocabulary and grammar, I like to bring in curiosities, facts and expressions that are typically Brazilian. I think learning languages is more fun when it feels like you are talking to a friend instead of a strict professor. Moreover, I like to mold the methodology to the student's objectives and preferences.
I believe in a open, friendly environment where students get the chance to share their views on the subject without being afraid of making mistakes. Only from mistakes can one develop its skills. Visual Images to grab students attention and bring a good dynamic to the studying process are a way to memorize and understand the concepts better.
I assure a dynamic course with great sense of humor, focused on conversation and ways of speaking in Brazil through texts, simulations, dialogues, music, videos, games and oral histories, without forgetting learning the grammar, of course.
I've found that children react very well when we use songs, pictures and games. Even teens and adults, it's easier for them when we use those kinds of techniques. The secret is to adjust the kind of music, images and games according to the student's age and learning ability. I believe learning should be done with the things we love the most.
I base my classes on the level of my students. This way I can teach the basics of the language or if the student is at an advanced level, my lessons components are more complex. I teach students of all ages. My lessons are shaped to my students and their reasons for learning the language.
Nothing better than learn or improve a new language with a native speaker. My method will Impress you from the beginning. The best way to do it is to have a conversation with a native speaker, me. I know what to teach you to become fluent in a language that could be tricky to learn.
