I have taught a club of year 7-9 students for two years, and so I'm confident in my ability to teach this level of pupils, and I have also worked with GCSE students in my school alongside my teachers. I have learnt to teach with patience and understanding, and tailor how I teach to each individual student. I use youtube videos, diagrams, written and spoken explanations to find how each person learns best.
I am happy to teach lessons to students that want extra lessons, struggle with the work or as a revision tutor. I will be dedicated to having an open and honest dialogue with my students that allows them to trust me with any question about the subject, and will plan each session around their needs.
I'm a Physics, Maths and English A-Level student looking to tutor GCSE students or younger pupils. I achieved all A*s and As in my GCSEs in 2019, and am currently working at an A grade level.
I have attended a program with Cambridge University to broaden my understanding of Physics, which I very much enjoyed. I have also attended multiple University lectures in astrophysics and particle physics, and so have a wide range of knowledge and experience in the subject.
These rates will be constant over the course of tutoring, however if they are ever to be changed you will be notified with a few weeks notice. I will be happy to possibly negotiate a lower price for my lessons through email if needed.
KIERA S. - A Level Physics and Maths student
Olchfa Comprehensive School — Writing club director
October 2018 - PRESENT
This role has greatly enhanced my organisation, communication and teamwork skills, as well as my self-motivation and responsibility.
I have been fully committed to planning every week's session and teaching a class independently, meaning I can be relied on to work independently.
There have been opportunities for others to help me with this and so I have also learnt to work well in a group.
Celebration Cakes, Swansea — Shop/Bakery Assistant
July 2017 - PRESENT
I have learnt how to work well in a professional environment in a very busy setting, meaning I am very focused and can multi-task with ease.
Over time, I have introduced new ways to organise orders and communicate with customers using technology and have taught my co-workers to use these online resources.
I do many tasks in this role, such as taking orders, speaking with customers, transporting the cakes and working with cooking equipment.
Comprehensive School, Swansea — GCSEs and A-Levels
September 2018 - PRESENT
I achieved eight A*s and three As at GCSE level education, and have been predicted three As and a B for my AS Level grades in Physics, Maths, English Literature and Welsh Baccalaureate.
I have studied physics for multiple years both in comprehensive school and outside of it. I am taking A Level Physics and Maths, which I thoroughly enjoy, and have also taken masterclasses in Physics as a part of the Cambridge University program called HE+.
With Swansea University so close to me, I have attended their physics open lectures and taken part in several online physics webinars with the university. I have also had the opportunity to speak with several physics professors about their courses and how they teach, and attended physics open days at several universities across the country.
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award -
This was an extremely rewarding experience that taught me many life skills, helped to build on my team building skills and increased my gratitude and patience in difficult circumstances.
Week-long expedition to Finnish Lapland -
While taking part in this expedition, I became much more resilient, determined and made sure that I don’t give up under trying times.
Had a large role in the School Advisory Board for four years -
This experience taught me what a professional work environment is like, how to work with and learn from those more experienced than you and greatly enhanced my communication skills.
Perfect! I had 1 lesson with miss Kira. Her teaching was easy to understand and I learnt something new. The way she delivered the lesson was excellent because she questioned me throughout to consolidate my learning and made the lesson enjoyable. I hope I can continue learning from her. I would definitely recommend her lesson
He was an excellent listener, and he was clearly ready and prepared for the lesson. I greatly enjoyed this tutoring session.
Hi there, I’m Grace one of Kiera’s peers. Kiera is extremely passionate about providing help and support for those around her, especially academically which she does regularly. She is extraordinarily patient and caring and has at many times provided me with assistance. She is extremely confident and would be a pleasure to have a a tutor, as she is highly knowledgeable.
Kiera is a very patient and caring person and i am confident she will explain the content in great detail. She is also very friendly so i’m sure students will feel comfortable asking her any questions. She can adapt herself in order to benefit the student and ensure they are understanding the work. Kiera is a diligent individual who will prioritise her students goals and help them reach their maximum potential.
Kiera explains ideas very well and is able to help others understand topics. She is proficient in science and mathematics and has been extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend Kiera.
