I can teach up to AS level, going through in a topic by topic structured approach, prioritising more time to areas that need more attention. I use detailed examples my students can follow, who then practise with past paper questions that they can review with me, where we evaluate their answers and how they can improve their answers to gain marks.
I have mentored and taught maths and chemistry to six boys between years 9-11 in my school for the past year. I helped one improve from a grade 6 to a grade 9 at his GCSE mock in maths. I am taking maths, further maths, chemistry and physics at A level with the intention of studying engineering.

My teachers describe me as a hardworking, driven student. I am currently in year 12 with a keen interest in Maths and an ambition to study Engineering at Cambridge. I have a mature and strong work ethic and am highly academic, having recently received 10A* equivalent grades at IGCSE level. My greatest strength is the ability to collaborate well with others whilst ensuring a sense of focus, direction and fresh perspective to a task. My passions lie in business and politics and a career path within these areas is of great interest to me.

STEM insight week at GSK (Oct’19): Participated in an insight event named ‘Molecule to Market’ that had an underlying focus on pharmacology and drug development. The conclusion was a Dragon’s Den competition that consisted of 6 groups pitching their new product to the panel. I led the team focusing them on product, marketing & development and this resulted in my team winning. We delivered our effective and accessible drug ‘Labrinol’ to the hypothetical market to treat labyrinthitis.
Young Engineers’ insight day (Apr’19): We were guided through tasks including creating a plan to land the first space shuttle on Mars, testing many engineering principles which taught me to be innovative and use my knowledge for various applications. This gave me the experience of understanding the impact of engineering in day to day life.
Perfect! Shivam is tutoring my son for GCSE Physics and Chemistry. My son understands the concepts as Shivam very clearly explains them and makes it easy and interesting. He has good hold on the subjects. I recommend Shivam's tutoring.
A very engaged and capable student. Took the new material of distance-time graphs on very quickly and explained his reasoning well.
Shivam has a strong grasp of the required knowledge and has a pleasant way of presenting it.
He is patient, dedicated and a great communicator.
