A-level student looking for work as an English Tutor up to GCSE level.

Methodology

As a tutor, I will make sure that I don't just help my students obtain good grades/improve academically, but will also help them grow to enjoy the subject, by making sure that I bring fun to my lessons. I believe that is extremely essential that students aren't only just taught new skills and are provided with academic success, but that they also ENJOY the subject.

Background

Hello, I am 16 year old student in need of a job to help me in terms of gaining new skills and experiences, and also to earn money for future education (I definitely want to go to university, but currently fees are extortionate), etc. I know I am not a professional tutor, but I do believe it is essential we assist the younger generations in terms of academics, because as cheesy as this sounds they really are, 'the future'. Whilst I am not a professional tutor, as previously mentioned, I have GCSE qualifications, and am currently studying for A-levels, so I am able to assist with education/academic work, up until GCSE standard/level for now. I have listed all my qualifications on my CV, but I would like to state that although I am mainly looking for work as an English tutor, I will also be able to help in the following subjects: Religious Education, Sociology and Drama.

Due to being a 16 year old A-level student, I do not have heaps of experience in terms of professional tutoring, however I do love English, which I believe is very important in terms of tutoring a subject. In addition, I recently took the new 9-1 GCSE specification for English and Maths, so I do know what is needed in order to obtain one of the highest grades for English; something that I do believe will be very beneficial. Whilst many teachers/tutors also have to adapt to the new specification, I have had first-hand experience in studying the new curriculum, which will enable me to help students obtain high grades for their GCSE exams. As well as being available to tutor for GCSE, I shall also be available to teach younger children, not only in literature or creative/formal writing (descriptive paragraphs, letters, etc), but also with reading and basic writing.
If you are interested,
Please do not hesitate to contact me!

• I previously did regular piano lessons.

About Me:
Future: I want to study either ‘Psychology’/’Psychology with English Literature’/’Psychology with Sociology’ at university, as well as continuing acting/drama on the side-I want to help those suffering with mental illnesses; to release the stigma on mental health, due to believing that nobody should suffer in silence, and that help should always be accessible to those who may be distressed, even if there are no physical symptoms. It is a goal of mine to not only attempt to help people, but to also be able to do so as my profession. Additionally, acting is something I love, and do want to pursue. Although I know that aiming for two quite demanding careers may seem impossible, I am a firm believer in aiming high.
Attributes: I am social, goal-driven, vehement, articulate, empathetic and caring.

Likes: I enjoy reading, writing, engaging in intellectual/philosophical discussions with friends or family members, listening to a range of music, spending time with family and friends, learning about different cultures- due to being British-Asian, and having been brought up in a family of Caucasians, Asians and Africans; having friends from a wide range of countries-I am very grateful that I am able to coincide with people of different cultures-it is something that I believe everybody should have the right and opportunity to. In addition, whilst I also love reading, I do also take great pleasure in watching movies, my favourites being from the 90’s: ‘Lolita, 10 things I hate about you and My girl’.
Furthermore, I am a vegetarian and a huge lover of animals, believing that they should all be taken care of and loved, not abandoned or hurt.
Lastly, although I am an only child, I have always been very good with young children, and have had experience taking care of younger family members and having had work experience in a primary school. I am very capable of looking after young children, ensuring that they are well behaved, and keeping out of harm’s way, whilst also allowing them to have fun and be entertained.

Availability: As an A-level student, I am available to work on weekends, during holidays, and possibly after school hours on weekdays.
