I find the most effective way to teach is through explaining topics beginning with key concepts and insuring the student has a good understanding of the content before moving onto practice questions. If the student is preparing for an exam I'm happy to go through exam techniques and revision methods for specific exams. I'm also happy to adapt my teaching style to the students needs i.e. if they would prefer help on specific questions they've struggled on as oppose to learning content.
I'm currently studying geography at Durham university. For A-levels I took Maths, Physics and Geography A levels, achieving A*AA. I achieved 9,8,8,A*,A*,A*,A*,A*,A*,A,B in my GCSEs so have learnt best ways to revise and effective exam techniques which I'd love to pass on to current student students as I know its a stressful time. I've prepared and taught lessons to classes of students on a volunteering trip to Uganda as well as being involved with multiple schemes to help the younger students at my school including being an antibullying ambassador.
