I approach each topic with a quick game or test to gauge the level and competence of my student. I then go on to more in depth methods. I then use practice questions to go over new material and finish with a game to keep the session engaging and fun as well as academic
I am currently studying maths, chemistry and geography at a level and fully intend to go onto study ag university. I recently achieved top grades at GCSE and know the new specifications inside out. I am completely passionate about all my subjects which shines through in my teaching.
I am a very bubbly and hardworking person and am willing to try my hand at anything. Recently I have completed Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, which involved volunteering at a local charity shop and horse riding as well as expeditions in various locations all over England. Over the last five years I have been taking lessons and exams in speech and drama and I recently achieved grade 7 acting duologue with merit and grade 6 acting solo with distinction. I enjoy sailing in my spare time, on keelboats as well as dinghies and have completed an RYA 3 course. I also teach Maths and French at a local primary school for an afternoon per week as part of my sixth form’s volunteering program. In 2015 I undertook a two week charity project in Slovenia which included helping to maintain parts of the Triglav National Park as well as hiking and spending time with local people.
Admin Assistant. R&W Civil Engineering, Southampton/Winchester - school holidays, 2015 to Present
Most of my work was in the accounts department, where I helped to check and process supplier invoices and prepare invoices for customers. I’ve also spent time in the payroll and marketing departments where I’ve helped with administrative tasks, in conjunction with this I have helped to organise the company’s annual safety briefing which involved sending invitations, preparing name tags and a table plan for 350 people.
Admin Assistant. The Village Magazine, Chichester - 2017
I worked in a team with the editor and other assistants to put the Village Magazine together. Throughout the year I spent there I learnt valuable computer skills and how to work as a team player, especially when working to a deadline. I also came in to contact with many members of the community as well as local businesses, via networking events, emails and answering the phone. Overall I would say this job heightened my technological and social skills hugely.
Volunteer shop assistant. RSPCA charity shop, Chichester - September 2017 to March 2018
I spent 6 months helping out restocking shelves and working on the till on a Saturnay afternoon as part of my Silver DofE Award. I found the work fulfilling and I enjoyed serving and speaking to the customers. Part of my role also included steaming clothing and helping to put window displays together.
Work experience. Mayo Wynne Baxter Solicitors, Lewes - August 2018
I spent a week working at Mayo Wynne Baxter Solicitors, in a variety of departments but primarily clinical negligence. Throughout the week I went to several client meetings and performed calculations for a high value cerebral palsy case. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience as I found it very varied and therefore interesting. I particularly enjoyed the time I spent in the contentious probate department, so much so that I am considering it as a career option.
