I am currently studying biology, chemistry and maths A levels. I am currently in year 12 and therefore only provide tutoring the first year of the course at the moment. The lessons would initially begin with understanding the particular topic on the specification, followed by practice questions (provided by myself), then I would go through an efficient way to memorise all points listed on the specification (based on the students personal preferences) and finally I would provide the student with a note pack, allowing the student to quickly and efficiently re-learn any forgotten material (e.g. in year two).
My methodology as a tutor is to always be calm and understand that it does not matter how hard you fall, the only thing that matters is how high you bounce back up.
I began my tutoring experiences by helping out my friend who was struggling with the AS chemistry course. My friend approached me and asked for some help. After evaluating his circumstances it was clear that he was struggling to memorise and understand the content.
Prior to my tutoring my friend had achieved a grade E (46%) in his latest half term test for chemistry. It has now been 7 weeks and in the latest half term test he had received a grade B (79%).
