I am an A-level student who achieved 10 A*s at GCSE. In my sessions I would focus on areas of the subject that the student particularly struggles with as well as- general revision, going through exam questions and help with homework. I find that being of a similar age to the students I am helping makes it easier for me to think of relatable analogies to assist with their leaning.
I have never privately tutored before, however I help out with a science club at school for younger students and also have helped other students in years below me with revision and homework. My main focus would be consolidating knowledge and helping students with areas they struggle in, which is something I have practised with younger family members and friends.
10 A* in GCSE including all of the subjects I am tutoring and currently doing A-levels in those subjects as well so I am up to date with the curricular.
