About the lesson
According to my experience both as a musician and as a cello teacher, I find that music changes our lives for the better. Have a try!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach cello mainly, as I have many years of experience teaching and I really enjoy seeing how my students improve with my help. I teach also chamber music. I could teach Spanish as well upon request.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
Last year, I finished my Music Degree in Spain with Distinction and now, I feel very lucky to continue my career as a student completing my Masters Degree in orchestral training at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the direction of Pierre Doumenge.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour, although I could reduce the price if the pupil comes to my place to £20 per hour. For an extra half an hour I charge £10. For spanish lessons, I charge £20 per hour, but I could consider an special offer for groups (£15 per person, no more than three students per group).
- Where do you teach?
I would rather teach at home, but I would be very happy to travel to my pupils' homes. I live in Barbican (EC1) and I could travel within 30min/1-3 zones, although I could travel further if travel expenses are paid.
- When are you available?
I am available every day at any time. As I am student my timetables are constantly changing, so I would prefer to arrange the lessons on a week to week basis.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels from beginner to advanced.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Music has become the most important source of fulfilment and wellbeing for me. For those who have never had the experience of playing an instrument it is worth having a try; and for those who are currently studying music this is the perfect opportunity to have another point of view.

About Lidia
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been working in a music school for beginners in Spain during two years, where I learnt most about the cello teaching. Also, last summer, I was working in a music academy teaching skills including ear training, score reading, as well as intonation and rhythm principles. Apart from that I have been teaching private lessons at home during six years, supporting my students in what their main teacher has set in class.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I do not have one yet, but I will apply for it as soon as I can.
