I specialise in proofreading science based writing and can offer suggestions in the writing as well. I am also able to proofread other writing outside the science sector. I use the track changes feature in Word to make all my changes so you can see exactly what has been done.
I am a postgraduate, I completed my MSc degree with a Distinction. I am a native English speaker and well versed in academic writing making me competent in proofreading. Education and qualifications:
2018 – 2019: King’s College London, MSc. Cardiovascular Research
Modules studied: Fundamental Cardiovascular Research and Applied Cardiovascular Research.
Thesis Topic: The role of CDK19 in the progression of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
In my MSc dissertation, I looked at the role of cyclin-dependent kinase 19 (CDK19) in pulmonary vascular cells. I tested to see whether hypoxia upregulates this kinase expression and activity in pulmonary vascular and non-vascular cells in vitro. I also assessed the effect of CDK19 inhibitors on pulmonary vascular cell proliferation in vitro and hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension phenotype in vivo. I undertook an 8-month long project, and during that time, I became competent in routine lab techniques such as SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, cell culturing and proliferation assays. I also developed problem-solving skills, prioritisation and learned how to work independently.
2013 – 2017: University College London, BSc. Pharmacology
Achieved: Upper Second-Class Honours Degree.
2016 – 2017: Third year Overall achieved 2:1
Modules studied – Neuropharmacology, Immunopharmacology, Synaptic Pharmacology, Receptor Mechanisms, Molecular Pharmacology.
Dissertation Topic: The role of central 5-HT pathways and receptors on cardiovascular regulation.
My dissertation was a literature overview of the key 5-HT receptors involved in cardiovascular regulation, such as 5-HT1A, 5-HT2 and 5-HT7. I critically analysed the location of these receptors in the brain and the signalling pathways in which they are involved. Through this, I have consolidated my understanding of the rat brain and attempted to extrapolate this knowledge on my understanding of the 5-HT receptors in the human brain.

Perfect! Manpreet was an amazing tutor. I sent her my dissertation with feedback from my supervisors a week before submission after doubting myself on several things. After she read my draft, she knew exactly what I needed help on. She did an excellent job teaching me about the appropriate statistics to use, and we came up with a package to ensure my results section was up to great standard. She replied super quick and helped me with any of my worries, she was constantly giving me feedback and answering all my questions. She gave me tips on what to include in the conclusion, appropriate aims and objective, statistical analysis, appropriate legends. This is the first time I ever had a tutor help me with university work as plagiarism has always scared me, but she ensured me that it was all my own work and she was just helping me improve it to a better quality, in which she did.
I am so grateful for Manpreet, not only did she save my dissertation but she saved me a lot of stressing !!
I would definitely recommend manpreet to all university students!! She knows what she’s talking about and replies were super quick!
