Linguist, professional translator with over 20 years of experience and PhD student available for individual and group lessons.

Methodology

I use a functional teaching approach: depending on your level and goals, I will create and set out a plan for you to get as much out of the lessons as possible. Lessons should be fun and the language will become more and more natural for you. The lessons will be integrated with extra material selected on the internet, videos, readings and conversations. I also teach small groups on a weekly basis, please enquire for the next course availability. I like to have occasional food evening, with Italian quiz and games. Or film afternoons and morning coffee groups. Even if you choose individual lessons, you will be invited to immersive events where you can practice speaking and listening as well as learning about the Italian culture.

Experience

I am a native Italian professional translator and have been teaching Italian to groups and to individuals for over 15 years. Whether you are studying Italian at GCSE, A-Level or at university, or you are just curious about this fascinating language and you are going on holiday to the Amalfi coast next year, or you are a business person who needs to understand a little bit more what your Italian counterparts say, I can help you develop your knowledge and ability in understanding and speaking the language. English is my second language, I have lived in the UK for 21 years, I have a degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Translation Studies, I run a freelance business offering linguistic services and I am currently studying towards a PhD in Translation Studies.

Rate for online lessons : £25/h

Rate for 5 hours of lessons : £120

Rate for 10 hours of lessons : £235

Details

Due to the current pandemic I can only offer virtual lessons on Zoom or Skype. I use the same didactic material as I would in person and my students really enjoy it.
