The student will start the lesson by 'warming up' with quick experimental still life drawings to help train the student's eye so that they are able to notice and record in more detail. Then they will work on their project. It is important that the student is interested in what they are drawing, so a project format for drawing will be engaging and informative. In their project they may create detailed drawings using pencil, charcoal, collage, masking tape, colouring pencil etc. They will also do experimental drawing challenges to broaden their skills. They may also be able to find still-life objects in their home to draw from, or take their own pictures to draw from. Homework schedule will be discussed with parent and student.
For GCSE subject tutoring I think it is important to teach what is required by the specification in depth so that the student can be fully prepared for the exam. Ample use of tailor made interactive PowerPoints are essential in keeping the student interested and focused. I will allow students to request lessons on topics they are having particular difficulty in. I will set worksheets/questions in which the student can fill out and then we will go through, or in which we can go through together, whichever way the student feels is most effective for them. The student may contact me at any time if they need help with their homework and I will make sure to explain it to them in their next lesson or by phone if it is urgent. I am happy also to arrange extra lessons if required. For Art I will help the student with their coursework as well as improving their drawing skills.
I am an A-Level student working towards my Art & Design, Product Design and Psychology. I am also willing to teach GCSE Art & Design, Graphic Design, R.E. all of which I have achieved A/A* at GCSE. I have experience in teaching Religious education to a year 4 class regularly, and I have run an art club for year 7 and 8s. As it will be my first time tutoring I am willing to do the first lesson free, after discussing requirements. I can also provide a discounted price if more than one student wants to study the same subject at the same time.
