London-based humanities tutor. Graduated with a first in Politics and International Relations from Goldsmiths, UOL. Proficient at tutoring all humanities subjects from KS3 through GCSEs and A levels.

About the lesson

I can help you resolve crises, get your homework done, and pass those dreaded exams, all whilst maintaining a cool and clear head.

I don’t have any elaborate pedagogical theory or fancy teacher training. But in my experience it’s patience, empathy, awareness of what each individual student needs, and the ability to inspire that really matters when it comes to tutoring effectively.

My lessons are relaxed, informal, engaging, and fun. I can teach you online, or in person at your home if you live in London.

About Jack

My name is Jack, I’m 22 years old and I’ve recently graduated with a first-class BA in politics and international relations from Goldsmiths College, and I am presently applying to take an Mphil in intellectual history at Cambridge.

Growing up, although I was bright and vigorously pursued a range of intellectual and musical interests outside the classroom, my experience of school itself was defined by constant humiliation, failure, and fear. I struggled for years with ADHD and Dyspraxia, and I was invariably the worst student in every class I was in. But with the aid of supportive friends and family, and through passion and force of will, I transformed myself into an excellent student almost overnight.

I know from personal experience that with effective encouragement and support, all human beings are capable of radical transformation for the better. My goal as a teacher is to enable my students to attain this. I aim to help students jump through those dreaded hoops; to obtain their credentials and certificates; to clear their paths of obstacles, so that they are free to live exciting, dignified and fulfilling lives.

Though I push my students to achieve excellence, I do so with humour, sympathy, and patience. Whilst we brawl through the mundane drudgery of exams, mock exams, and coursework essays, I will seek to imbue the student with my passion for all things literature, philosophy, and history related; where this passion is already present, I will seek to nurture it.
