I think foundations are super important, I find many students who have been dancing for years come to me with no understanding of body movement or technique. I like to introduce these things from the early stages which gives you the best chance to become an advanced dancer. Salsa music is so rich and I try to help the student connect with it to help with their musicality, as well as learning so much we will have a lot of fun with my silly jokes and metaphors to help you understand movements in a 'normal' way :-)
I have been studying dance since I was 3 years old, salsa came into my life through my step father who is Colombian so I was lucky enough to grow up around the amazing music and culture. After focusing on ballet and contemporary dance as well as Ballroom and Latin for a few years (achieving my Silver Level medals from the ISTD) I found myself drawn to salsa where I started my professional journey through training, performing and teaching at London's biggest Latin dance school Caramelo Latin Dance. I have since performed and taught all over London and the UK as well as some international events, I regularly partner different male salsa artists such as Richard Marcel (Strictly Come Dancing) and Miguel (of Mambonito Dance Company) and work as a solo artist as well as in a female team Mileydis with Andrea Stewart.
Cancellation up to 24 hours prior is free however less than 24 hours half the lesson fee will apply.
Gabriella is not just a beautiful dancer!
Above all, she is a methodical and inspiring teacher who can train absolutely anybody!!!
She is able to convey knowledge naturally in the most subtle way I have ever seen. Able to break down and explain the dancing movements to accustom each and every learner. This is probably due to her classical and modern dancing background. Something that it is obvious not only during her classes with her students, but also in her unique, charmingly captivating dancing performances.
I met Gabriella when I was taking footwork mambo(salsa) classes in London.
In salsa/mambo, as followers we don't have many "liberties" on the dancefloor and when we are given some, we have to be ready to "shine". I didn't know what that meant until I saw Gabriella's impromptu ladies styling.
I was mesmerized by her gracious movement on the dancefloor, it was as if she was playing the music with her dancing lightning up the whole room.
P.S: "She makes you feel at home with her warm and supportive personality, and you don't even notice you managed to actually do all those difficult movements correct by the end of the class.."
Having been Gabriella’s student for over 3 years, I can say that her training is not only inspiring but it gave me the right tools which have equipped me for my own professional journey in becoming an instructor. This is someone who has bucket loads of passion for what she does and will go above and beyond to help you draw out your talent and technique! Bonus factors include her infectious personality- she is so fun to be around that you won’t want to miss class!
Gabriella has been teaching me salsa dancing for a few years now and my dancing has completely transformed with her teaching. She has a level of expertise in dancing which means she teaches the proper technique behind the dance steps and the right drills to develop body isolations. She is comfortable teaching complete beginners and will adapt her teaching to make complex dance techniques accessible, but also uses her professional dancing skills to keep challenging you to help you reach any level you want.
She's super reliable, has an infectious enthusiasm for dance, and is a great laugh too. Highly recommended.
