Very simple, cater the lesson content to the student, teach with patience and empathy, finally be passionate about the subject you teach. I believe that is the perfect recipe for a tutor.
My lessons are well organised and very flexible according to the students concerns and style of learning. I believe everyone learns in different styles, and the key to teaching is patience, passion for your subject and creativity!
I am a very bubbly, fun and love to teach! I am very organised, punctual and offer great quality lessons aimed at helping secondary school students with maths.
I am very new to official paid tutoring, but I am eager to start. I have had some experience in tutoring maths and piano to many family members and lots of friends, during their GCSEs and other exams.
Overall, I achieved two A*, five As, three Bs and one level 3 pass in Additonal maths.
Maths (Edexel)- A* (3 marks off an A* I had to say it aha)
Additional Maths (FSMQ)- Level 3 Pass
Biology (AQA)- A*
Chemistry (AQA)- A
I am currently studying A-level Mathematics (Edexel), Biology (AQA), Chemistry (AQA) and Music Technology (Edexel), as well as an EPQ (extended Qualification Project) on Music psychology. I have completed my AS exams in these subjects.
I have been tutored weekly for the past three years, and so I have picked up a few good teaching methods and a good idea of what a good lesson feels like. I also understand the stressful life of a student, and can empathise with that completely.
Other than this, I have been apart of a mentoring scheme at my sixth form for a year now, and have met with my mentee, a year 8 student for a lunch hour once a week. Overall, it has been nice to see my mentee flourish under my guidance, and have a laugh together.
I can't wait to begin, and help students become better at their subject. :)
