I love to find out about my students - why they want to learn, what they want to achieve, how they want to use English, what they are interested in and what they are struggling with specifically - so that I can tailor the lessons to their needs and interests and make the lessons more interesting and relevant. I love to see students grow in confidence and make progress and go on to achieve their potential.
I have been teaching for 30 years and have taught many different nationalities and levels. I love helping learners to communicate and integrate better and feel more confident. I have helped several students to pass FCE, CAE, ESOL and IELTs exams.
Students can cancel any time up to 12 hours before the lesson start time for free, but any lessons cancelled within 12 hours of the start time can be charged at 50% of the total lesson fee.

Over the years, I have worked with children and adults of various ages abilities, backgrounds and cultures, fulfilling a teaching and pastoral role. I have taught to national examination standard and for the purpose of general communication and integration. I have worked with individual students, small groups, and whole classes. I have also taught in workplace situations, such as groups of Polish workers at Rittals CSM factory in Plymouth and one-to -one tuition with Spanish aircraft engineers in Bournemouth. I have worked with asylum seekers, including teaching a class of mums with babies and toddlers. I have also taught English in a village primary school near Trivandrum in India.
I am quite imaginative and enjoy creating my own resources. I am able to teach online using Zoom. I have experience in planning schemes of work, as well as the creation, administration and evaluation of resources for different levels and abilities. I enjoy teaching elementary to advanced levels of English.
I feel I can describe myself as someone who has a calm and patient nature. It is part of my nature to be organized and I feel I am reliable. I love to see learners make progress, enjoy learning and increase their ability to communicate, integrate and contribute.
I enjoy learning languages, learning about different cultures, water-colour painting, guitar playing, badminton, walking, and reading travel books.
Perfect! Jackie is an excellent teacher. She is very patient and she has adapted to my level of English so I feel very confortable and I am learning a lot with her. I highly recommend her. Thank you Jackie.
Claudia participated well in the class, endeavouring to express her thoughts and ideas in English. She gained confidence as the lesson went on and it was a pleasure to teach her.
