My enthusiastic and empathetic teaching approach is what will stimulate productive learning. As a student who struggled at school in mathematics not too long ago, I can understand and conform to the hardship associated to Mathematics. I myself also turned my grade around, being predicted a D in A-level Mathematics to leaving secondary school with an A*. This experience will help me, in implementing similar results to my students. Whether you are one step away from an A* or a C grade, I will aim to push students to their fullest capacity.
Having tutored at differing levels (ranging from key stage 1 to degree level), I am adaptable and very approachable to students and parents/guardians.
Additionally due to this experience, I have witnessed recurring mistakes and misconceptions associated with studying mathematics and have several ways of helping students overcome this. One example is in that, many people attempt to memorise maths and I aim to challenge this way of thinking whilst supplying resources to utilise without my presence.
Last year, I completed my undergraduate degree at the School of Mathematics, University of Manchester; achieving a first class BSc in Mathematics. More recently, I graduated with a merit for my MSc in Statistics at the London School of Economics and Political Science whilst being a part time private tutor for varying levels of Mathematics. I have been tutoring since 2014 - having tutored mathematics across a range of curricula, ability and age groups; from preschool up to and including university.
