I'm an enthusiastic music teacher keen to help others develop their musical abilities and I hope to pass on a real love of music.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach bassoon, piano, clarinet, saxophone and music theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Masters degree in Performance from the Royal College of Music in London and a Bachelor of Music with honours also from the RCM. I received a scholarship for the duration of both my degrees.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £28 an hour, £14 for a 30 minute lesson.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my pupils houses around Aberdeenshire. The majority of my pupils are in Banchory and Torphins and I prefer not to travel too far from this area. Within the next year I hope to teach from home so anyone from further afield can come for lessons.
- When are you available?
At present, I teach from Monday to Thursday. The after school period is quite busy, so some flexibility is helpful, however I do my best to accommodate everyone.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and abilities.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If my pupils wish to enter for grade exams, I prefer to use ABRSM.
I also help prepare pupils for their SQA exams at school.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have extensive experience as a solo, orchestral and chamber instrumentalist. For the past five years I have been teaching privately on a one to one basis, helping pupils to achieve exam and performance success.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
At the moment I do not teach at any schools so do not have an Enhanced Disclosure certificate.
