French-Taiwanese pianist Lysianne Chen has distinguished herself with her beautifully articulated touch and melodically charged sensibility. She has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Engagements include Southbank Center, Royal Overseas League, and Lauderdale House in London, Thatro Nacional Sao Carlos in Lisbon, Teatro Académico Gil Vicente in Coimbra, Rekstensamlingene in Bergen, Theatro di Fumetto and Institut Luigi Boccherini in Lucca, Opera Comedie in Montpellier. Her recordings have been broadcast on national radio pt5 in Portugal, and she has appeared on French TV France 3, Arte, Bulgarian TV DTV, Greek parliament channel Vouli.
Lysianne's performing career has led her to numerous major festivals, including the International Piano Festival in Lisbon, Wimbledon International Music Festival in UK, Aegean International Music Festival in Greece, Golden Diana International Music Festival in Bulgaria.
In February 2019, Lysianne has been invited by the Parliament of Greece to perform alongside violinist Anastasios Mavroudis at a concert celebrating the composter Sisilianos.
In 2017, Lysianne was invited to an Artist-in Residency programme at the Intercommunal Music School in Granville, France, with a series of coaching and performing programme which include an sold-out piano recital at L'Archipel concert hall. She has received praises from music critics with their articles published in French newspapers and magazines such as La Manche Libre and Ouest France.
In February 2017, Lysianne was invited by the Ministry of Education of SIngapore to give lectures and concerts in the prestigious Music Elective Progamme.
Lysianne studied piano at the Conservatoire of Caen and Montpellier in France with Christian David and Pascal Jourdan, and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Carole Presland, where she obtained a Master Degree in Piano Performance. During her studies, Lysianne had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with Christopher Elton, Denis Pascal and Yvan Fedele, in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom. Lysianne is passionate about chamber music and has worked with various instrumental ensembles. She plays a vast range of repertoire and has maintained a keen interest in tango music and jazz classical music such as Piazzolla, Kapustin or Gershwin. She is also a fervent supporter of the Taiwanese Folk Music, and she is involved in charity concerts.
Lysianne is the third piano teacher I tried. Before I always struggled with my motivation practicing at home by myself. What her description says about joyful lessons is just right! The lessons are pure fun and enjoyable. That brought my motivation back. She gives me demanding homework to do. However, since I made great progress from week to week, I began to enjoy even playing alone. Her expectations are not low, but she makes it feel like a challenge. That's what made it fun for me ultimately.
Lysianne is teaching my seven year old daughter for two years now. She interacts very well with children. My daughter usually talks happily about the lessons. Lysianne gives very detailed feedback of the learning progress.
There are regular "house concerts" that my daughter gives to all family members and friends. She learns how to play by heart and how to act on stage. It is usually great fun for my daughter and the "audience".
I fully recommand Lysianne as a piano teacher.
