Methodology

I am a professional freelance musician based in West London. I am enthusiastic, friendly, and have helped many students achieve good results whether studying towards exams, auditions, or learning for fun.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach:
Classical Guitar
Electric Bass
Double Bass
Music Theory
Improvisation
Sight Reading
Logic X music recording software
Sibelius notation software

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a Bmus in Music Performance from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn. I also hold a Rockschool affiliated teaching licentiate.

- How much do you charge?

£35.00 per hour is my standard rate. For distances travelled over 30mins, there is an additional £5 travel charge.
For students who wish to book blocks of lessons in advance, 4 lessons blocks of one hour are £120.00 (Also potentially subject to travel costs.)
For 45 min lessons I charge £30.00 per lesson or £100.00 for a block of 4.

I am happy to offer free telephone or video call consultations to discuss how to best meet your needs before engaging in lessons.

- Where do you teach?

I can teach at my home in W14 Hammersmith/Fulham London. (nearest tube Barons Court.) Or I can travel to most places in London zones 1-3 but distance may affect price.

- When are you available?

I am very flexible for teaching times, and am available at weekends and weekdays, daytime and evening.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss available times.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I can teach all ages and abilities. Young to old, complete beginner to advanced.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I feel the most important aspect is to have fun and benefit from the joy and satisfaction that learning a musical instrument brings!

Background

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have 20 years experience as a professional musician. I have played West End touring shows, cruise ships, and venues such as The Jazz Cafe and 02 Indigo London. I have taught individuals privately as well as group settings. My main approach when teaching is to identify clear goals and help the student get the best from their valuable practice time.
With younger guitar students I particularly encourage classical style as an excellent introduction to learning along with the books 'The Guitarist's Way'.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied at ICMP Kilburn and was lucky enough to have private lessons with Wworld renowned musicians Lawrence Cottle and Janek Gwizdala
