Marian really listens to you and helps you in just the way you want. She made our sessions fun and I learned so many new words and how ro spell better.
I am so much more confident since having Marian as my tutor that instead of letting fear of failing hold me back, I concentrate on getting my work done well. I have improved by two grades.
I used to find it hard to make myself sit down and study even for five minutes sometimes. But with the techniques I have learned from Marian, I can work in the university library for as long as I need to, without impatience or the stress.
I was disappointed with my AS Eng Language and Literature result as I needed a good grade in that subject to make sure I could get into medical school, even though my main subjects are maths and sciences. I worked with Marian and really got on top of the gaps in my knowledge of the set books and also how to express my ideas in essay writing which I always found hard, although I knew what I wanted to say. I went from a D to an A.
Thank you so much Marian. You helped me get my own ideas down on paper for my dissertation and it was so much easier than I thought.
I never thought I was get a good grade at my GCSE English because I have never liked English much. I have always been into maths and sciences like the rest of my family. But with Marian as my personal tutor I started liking English and I learned how to be logical and structured in my writing.
Reading the set texts with Marian gave me a real boost and I saw how to give evidence for my ideas and opinions. I no longer dread English exams.
I used to dread giving a speech or presentations at work but I can now stand up confidently, however many people are in the room.
