Aikido is a powerful system of self-defense, employing techniques based on circular motions that blend with the energy of your opponent. Men and women can equally benefit from this martial art.
Aikido promotes body flexibility, self-confidence, and the peaceful management of conflicts.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a 4th Dan Shidoin (National Instructor), and a member of the British Birankai Teaching Committee.
I also have a Post Graduate Degree in Sports Science.
- How much do you charge?
Classes are held at Abbey Stadium, Redditch on Wednesday evenings starting at 7.40 pm. You are welcome to watch or participate in one class free of charge. £5 per class.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?
At present classes are limited to people 16years and above. The class caters for students of mixed ability, from complete beginner to advanced student and instructors.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, this may be seen on request.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The club, and al members (including myself) are registered with British Birankai, under the technical direction of TK Chiba Shihan, who was a direct student of the founder of Aikido, O'Sensei.
British Birankai is a member organisation of the BAB (British Aikido Board), the governing body for Aikido in Britain.
