Success in maths does not come merely by repetition and memorising. I personalise my teaching to match the learning style of each student and try to make maths fun, or at least pain-free!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Maths from GCSE up to A level, including further maths, mechanics, statistics and decision maths.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a maths degree from Cambridge University and a masters degree in applied statistics and operational research from London University. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE from the Open University.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour. An initial 30 minute consultation is free of charge. For appointments further than 5 miles from my home I charge an additional fee per mile for travel expenses.
- Where do you teach?
I usually tutor at students' homes or at my home in Buckingham.
- When are you available?
I am available at any time during school holidays, and other times by prior arrangement.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach GCSE and A level, so mainly ages 13 to 18 (Year 9 to Year 13) inclusive.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching maths in independent schools for the past nine years. I am married with a daughter at university. I have tutored a number of GCSE and A level students, including further maths, over the past nine years, achieving excellent results.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes. Enhanced disclosure certificate issued 2009 and renewed 2010, 2012 and 2018.
