I believe lessons should be fun, varied and interactive but also aimed at a level which will push the student to achieve their potential.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
A consultation via email or phone would be the starting point to establish the student's needs. Ideally the lessons would consist of weekly lessons via skype or on the phone and I would give regular feedback of written work submitted online. Students would also be directed to online language practice.

I taught EFL in language schools in Europe for several years after my degree and I was an EFL teacher in a Hong Kong secondary school for 12 years. While in Hong Kong I worked for over 7 years as an examiner for the Hong Kong Exams Authority and examined oral and written papers for the Hong Kong certificate exam in English. I was also an oral examiner at the British Council in Hong Kong for 4 years. I also work as an examiner for some EFL exams.

On an individual basis I have a number of students, for example I am teaching beginner Italian to a young college student and I have a student who is studying for the Ielts exam. I have also been helping a university student with her presentations and dissertation for her Masters degree.
Mary is the best English Ielts teacher I have ever had. She is friendly, patient, dedicated and intelligent. With her great help, I have achieved the necessary Ielts grade I needed for university and even developed a strong passion for learning English after her lessons. I wish I could have started my lessons earlier as she has not only enabled me to significantly improve my command of English but she also taught me how to enjoy learning.
