Practice makes perfect! By rigorously examining the subject, and applying your knowledge in as many different scenarios as possible, you will quickly master difficult aspects within maths and science. I emphasise hard work and dedication as these lead to success!
I'm currently undergoing my third year of my 4 year integrated masters in biomedical engineering. I've been tutoring throughout my degree for many varied clients, and have helped multiple students get A*s/As in physics, maths and chemistry A levels.
Flexible cancellation (within 24 hours), happy to conduct mocks in between lessons (will charge only marking time)
Bio-medical Engineering MEng:
Year 1. Scored an average of 80% across all modules which was a notional first.
Year 2: Scored an average of 76.2% across all modules, which was a notional first.
Current university roles:
In my first year, I was team leader for both of the “Engineering Challenges” schemes – programmes integrating undergraduate engineers from all fields. Both of these required me to effectively lead a team of between six and ten engineers, as well as to liaise with up to six groups of similar size.
As well as this, I am a member of the Engineers Without Borders Society, which involves partaking in workshops focused on sustainability and development in the current scientific climate. These have taught me a great deal about analytical problem solving and I am able to apply these skills to more “real world” applications that I meet in my degree.
Manning’s Tutors: October 2017- present
My work with Manning’s Tutors comprises of teaching maths and physics up to an A level standard, with chemistry and biology to a GCSE standard. In this role, I organise lessons with parents and students which I believe are interesting, and encourage students to learn. The challenges posed in students who are neither interested or motivated have given me a great insight in how to explain complex matters in an easy to understand way, whilst also considering multiple methods to deliver the same content.
Waitrose Bath: September 2014-September 2015
In this role I worked in the refrigerated section, replenishing and managing stock rotation alongside assisting customers. This role was hugely beneficial for developing a range of skills needed within the working world such as organisation, customer service and diligence.
