Masters student, offering helpful English lessons for KS1, KS2, KS3 & GCSE students

My teaching method always varies for each student, as every student has different academic abilities and preferred learning/teaching methods (one student may benefit from learning via visual notes e.g. mind maps, whereas another student may prefer learning though making detailed essay plans).

For each topic being taught, I always provide the student with personalised notes, tips and tricks. It's crucial to recognise the level the student is studying at (e.g. GCSE level) and teach them in the way the will be assessed (e.g. through essays or unseen exams).

What I believe helps my students improve their confidence and understanding, is providing them with a lesson log. In a lesson log, I am able to note how each lesson went, what was taught, what was easy/difficult, what the student needs further attention on...consequently, this allows the students to track their progress and truly see how they are doing.

I have completed my undergraduate degree at Cardiff University and I'm beginning my Masters degree.

Teaching, is a strong passion of mine and I have even worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia teaching and supporting young children with English, Maths, Arts, History etc...

I run my own blog, where I write and share critical reviews, political discussions, creative writing, poetry...you name it!

Having received wonderful GCSE and A Level results, particularly in English Language and English Literature, I enjoy helping others with their learning and understanding, in an easy and enjoyable way!

Hobbies & Interests

I am involved in the Cardiff University dance society, where I attended weekly dance rehearsals, help choreograph dance routines and attend live performances. As a member of Cardiff University’s Journalism Society and Marketing and Entrepreneurship Society, I have gained the ability to effectivity debate, communicate and be innovative. Currently completing of the silver Duke of Edinburgh award and being a being a member of a local league playing badminton club, has strengthened my team skills, confidence, punctuality and ability to adapt to new environments and unpredictable challenges.

During my second year at Cardiff University, I established my own small business providing freelance makeup services for events and occasions. It is heavily operated and marketed through digital platforms, such as Instagram and my self-run blog. Over the past two years, I have seen my business grow in numerous aspects, such as profit increase and clientele expansion. Through running my own business, I have learnt the importance of marketing communications, digital marketing, research, insight and statistics, sales management, marketing strategy and planning. In February 2017, I helped organise and produce a body awareness campaign, which explored the views of emerging models who face difficulties in the fashion industry. Through the use of digital marketing, the campaign photographs gained the attention of many and one of the emerging models who used my makeup service for the campaign, Naomi Nicholas-Williams, appeared on the BBC to do a live broadcast discussing the lack of diversity in the fashion industry.
