The most effective method of learning is through active, interactive lessons. The way I achieve this is by quizzing and asking questions about the material to the student to make sure they are understanding it, and also give them problems to talk through in the lesson. I ask that students come to me with problems they are struggling with and we both carefully probe what concepts need work. Once we have found the concept that the student needs to get more confident with, I give easier problems and eventually build up to the original problem.
I am a student studying an integrated masters in Mathematics and Physics. I have achieved a first in both my first and second year. I have tutored students from year eight to first-year university. Currently, I am volunteering for GT scholars, where I tutor students from less advantaged backgrounds. In addition, I have given lectures on physics to first-year university students.
