Hey! My name is Alex and I provide Maths lessons for high school, GCSE and A-level students. I also provide Statistical support for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
My lesson structure is heavily dependent on the students needs and preferred learning style. Generally though, I strongly believe that digital resources such as YouTube videos, online animations and examples are a great way to learn. Therefore, I encourage students to review some recommended materials ahead of time in preparation for the lesson. This way, time can be used effectively to apply the content, understand relationships and review any problems that they may have.
I am a Mathematics graduate (First Class Honours) with a Masters degree in Statistics. I have worked at the University of Liverpool for the past 3 years and have some experience teaching Maths and Statistics
I am a passionate, energetic and friendly individual with a skill for explaining complicated concepts in a simple way. As a dyslexic student myself, I deeply understand the different ways in which students learn.
It was highly frustrating for me at school to listen to Maths teachers who would just write a formula on the board and just expect you to memorise it with no explanation for where it came from and how it can be applied in different contexts. My mission is to help young people really understand the content and its applications. Students should trust their own intuition again and not just rely on memory!
