I like to use different methods through videos, worksheets and adapt to the students needs. It is all about the student learning and developing new skills and confidence through Maths as I know it can be very daunting, but nothing to worry about, we will definitely get there!
I am currently 3rd year of studying Bsc Mathematics. It is truly my passion. In my time, I have done 5 years of voluntary teaching where I have taught Maths til Alevels. Many students have said that they can easily understand and I am patient with them.
I am a dedicated, highly motivated individual with a striving passion for Mathematics. I have completed my GCSEs and received commendable grades in Mathematics and ICT which I achieved at an A-grade, and therefore continued to progress with these subjects for A-Levels. I am currently studying BSC Mathematics at University of Essex.
• I can concisely speak in Spanish (GCSE Grade A) and can also speak in Gujarati which is my mother tongue.
• Time management – I have developed the skill of punctuality through my academic studies by ensuring I was on time for school and lessons.
• Team working – Throughout my academic studies the importance of team work was emphasised and through this I could strengthen my team working skills.
Outside of studying, I am part of a non-profit women’s organisation that focuses on selfless service to help those in need. As the South London Regional Physical Activities Co-ordinator, I have strengthened my leadership, communication and presentation skills by taking on this duty. I have also learnt to balance my time by effectively taking on duties within the organisation while going through my academic studies.
I also volunteer as an English, Mathematics and Gujarati teacher at a supplementary school, where the students range from the age of 5 to 19. Through this I have developed my communication skills as I have worked with a wide range of ages.
In summer 2018, I went to India for 2 months through the Youth For Sewa scheme. I worked with the NGO Divya Vidyalay in India, which is a school for the mentally challenged and blind in the slum areas. I led activities aimed at education, character building and office based. I gained valuable skills of taking initiative and thriving in unfamiliar conditions and they were completely new for me as I was dealing with sensitive and challenging cases. Additionally, I adapted well with an entirely new group of people that do not speak the same language.
