My preferred method of teaching is based around how I also like to learn mathematics and physics. That is, I provide my students with problems of which the solutions are within their reach but require some thinking and even a bit of struggling to solve. I help to guide them to the solution rather than giving it to them outright. I believe this method is highly effective as there is often more than one way to arrive at a solution to a problem and every individual has their own unique way of looking at a given problem. Therefore, a particular method that may work for one student may be less beneficial to another. Also, a great deal of learning comes from the struggle, from making mistakes and adapting one's methods to arrive at the correct solution.
I am an undergraduate mathematics student at King's College London. Prior to this, I worked as a programmer for a number of companies in the city. I have previously tutored groups of GCSE Mathematics students at Fulham Boys School in both remedial and advanced classes.

GCSE Mathematics Tutor (part-time) - Fulham Boys School (02/20 - 03/20)
Teaching groups of year 11 GCSE Mathematics students.
The groups ranged from 3-15 students.
Students fell into the following categories (Those taking the Foundation level GCSE Mathematics paper and those taking the Higher level).
I worked part-time (about 5 hours per week), teaching year 11 students at the Fulham Boys School, GCSE mathematics and preparing them for their up-coming exams in the summer.
This was my first time doing any sort of direct tutoring. It was a rewarding experience where I learnt some of what works and what doesn’t with regards to teaching, and I feel I was able to help the students to improve their mathematics and feel more confident about taking their GCSE exams.
