My teaching methods is mainly identifying the areas you need help with; providing different perspective of looking at a topic and the solving a few examples together and the by yourself. My lessons are planned to be interactive and provide a foundation before moving onto more difficult topics or questions. I believe there are 3 things you need to succeed;
1.Tutor: I prepare lessons coherently and break it down to basis. no pressure is put on my student and I am more than happy to remind you that we have all made the mistake of thinking 1+1=11 before.
2.Student: I expect my student to put in their best. You don't have to be Einstein but you have to try to be the best you. Have confidence in yourself because I already do and I don't know you haha. Feel free to ask me the simplest question or the complex one.
3.Tutor+Student: If you know everything, good, you will make my work easier. If you know nothing, great, you will make my work enjoyable. I will give you respect and expect the same!
I am a third year Maths and Stats student at Oxford university. I go into schools to set up Maths societies and have been tutoring one-on-one and volunteering in classes since 2016. I took a gap year to be a Teaching Assistant in my sixth form. I was raised in Hackney. I have taught over 50 students with all getting B or above. My bio had to unique, sorry!

My son absolutely loved Desmond he simplified maths and made the lessons enjoyable. He recently passed his KS2 maths SATs with flying colours. Would highly recommend Desmond.
build great rapport with his students and take time to ensure the student understands what’s he’s teaching. Highly recommended.
Desmond is patient, passion and progressive in his efforts to teach and mentor.
I met Desmond at Oxford interviews and found him to be one of the most motivated and exciting people to talk about maths with. Desmond, in my experience, has always been someone who is both enthusiastic about the subject and helping others. Would highly recommend!
