I am a committed, enthusiastic and highly experienced music teacher and performer, and i'm keen to pass on my passion for music. Students of all ages and standards are welcome!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano from grades 1-8. I also teach grades 1-5 music theory and improvisation. I teach a range of styles of music, including jazz, classical and pop.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I achieved Distinction in both Grade 8 (ABRSM) Saxophone and Clarinet, as well as Grade 5 theory. I attained A grades in both GCSE and A level music, and am currently studying Jazz Saxophone at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home and at students' homes.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible with my hours, so this can be discussed and arranged to fit around the student's schedule.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and abilities.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If students wish to take graded exams then I would usually suggest ABRSM exams/Trinity exams, however some students feel that they would prefer to just learn at graded standards without the pressure of the actual exam, or prefer to concentrate on other areas like improvisation, ear training or theory, which is absolutely fine. Each lesson is adapted to the individual student's needs.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I studied saxophone, clarinet, piano and drums/percussion at Junior Trinity College of Music from the age of 13. One of my proudest moments was touring Switzerland as a solo concertoist with Junior Trinity's Symphony Orchestra. I am now finishing my MBus Hons degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I regularly do gigs, concerts and sessions in and around London, and I also teach weekly lessons to students of all standards and ages. I have been teaching music for over 5 years now so I have a lot of experience in this field.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
