Methodology

I am passionate about teaching and my interest in teaching is a result of passion for the subjects I teach. My teaching method involves invoking the student’s intellectual curiosity in order to keep them engaged. I believe in encouraging students to revise what has been done earlier with them. I also focus a lot of my time on preparing students for the exams. My tutoring is result oriented and has been much appreciated by my previous students. I place particular emphasis on rigour and repetition and make sure I point out the mistakes students commonly make that can cost them valuable marks in the examinations. Listening carefully to pupils, analysing their responses and responding constructively in order to take student’s learning forward are the pivotal stones of my success. I am very patient with students when they don’t understand concepts and encourage them to share their thoughts even when they come up with the wrong answers.

For students that are lagging behind, one-to-one tutoring can boost their confidence and give them a track record of success. For students who are already doing well, my tutoring offers the scope for fine-tuning exam and revision techniques. My tutoring methodology ensure that I can personalize my lesson plan to the abilities of the student. I am able to gauge the level of their understanding, and, more importantly, track down the sources of misunderstanding, and deal with them effectively. I also try and provide students with an alternative approach whenever possible. Sometimes that just be what is required for the students understanding to fall in place. Also, I ask for regular feedback from students, and that helps me tailor my lessons to suits their specific needs. Whatever the end goal, one-to-one tutoring by me offers enormous benefits to students. I have had encouraging responses from the students I have taught in the past as a testament of my effective tutoring methodology.
