I will go over a topic / key area with a student, then ask them to try and tackle the problem and if they have any difficulties, I go through the question with them step-by-step so they understand the process coherently.
I am an A-Level student currently studying Maths, French and Latin. I have no professional tutoring experience however in school I mentor younger students pastorally and academically for Maths and French

I am a Year 13 student currently holding an offer for Cambridge University to read Modern and Medieval Languages. Ambitious, hard-working and adaptable I have an ability to learn and absorb new information quickly and to apply that knowledge effectively. An independent thinker, I like to challenge the norm, to see things from a different perspective, understand why something is the way it is, then find new ways of doing things. I have strong analytical skills and enjoy the logic, pattern and rigour of linguistic and mathematical accuracy. In my daily life, I use logic to find solutions to problems as they arise. I like to think I am a very persuasive person, good at negotiating and constructing arguments to win people over. I enjoy debating at inter-school competitions and run the philosophy club – my last presentation was on Existentialism. A loyal and strong team player, I enjoy collaborating with others, but I’m also good at inspiring my peers and taking the lead. As a mentor to younger students I offer support with both personal and academic challenges. I am shortlisted to become House Captain and a school prefect. I recently attended The Young Investment Banker Programme at UCL which has confirmed my enthusiasm and commitment to pursuing a career in international financial services when I leave university.

I speak French and Spanish to a high level
My real passion is for languages and it is my immediate ambition to study them at Cambridge. I love travelling and have been very fortunate to visit Australia, Hong Kong, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Cuba, Mexico, Spain and Norway recently. I grew up partly in Italy and, as my father lives and works in France, I have regular opportunities to practice my French speaking skills. I love discovering new places, people, cultures and food!
I play Rugby for the First XV at school and represented my school on an international tour to South America in 2018. I have also played hockey, tennis and cricket for my school first teams. As well as playing rugby, I am a Welsh dragon at heart and have a fierce passion for Welsh rugby – regularly attending matches in Cardiff with my mother!
