I tailor my teaching to the needs and preferences of my students, as I believe that this is the key to effective learning and understanding. I feel that this is important in building self-confidence.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Maths (including Further Maths and Statistics/Mechanics modules) and Physics at both GCSE and A-Level.

I have A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry (AAAA), and A* GCSE Maths as well as an A in Further Maths A/O level. I am also studying Physics at Oxford University.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20 an hour for GCSE, £25 for A-Level. Outside of my immediate area I charge travel expenses at cost.
- Where do you teach?
I tutor in students' homes or other agreed locations which are suitable for study. I am willing to travel anywhere inside the Oxford ring road.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible, and I am happy to tutor whenever I do not have an existing booking. I am available 7 days a week and in school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I typically teach younger students taking their GCSEs/A-Levels, but I am happy to tutor adults looking to take the same exams.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I always endeavour to find an approach that suits a student's individual learning style and preferences.
In feedback I am regularly told that I have the ability to translate complicated concepts and make them come alive and allow the person to relate to them more readily.
I have a passion for these subjects and feel enthusiasm is the key to making the learning process enjoyable and useful for both pupil and tutor.
Whilst I cover the whole curriculum, I am adept at finding key areas of difficulty and ensuring that an appropriate level of attention is given to addressing them.
I usually find it most effective to observe and assist a pupil working on typical problems or past papers so that I understand their thought processes and can tailor my advice and teaching to them.
In general, I think it best for the student to continue using texts they are familiar with or that are used by their school, and only introduce other material if I feel it is of specific value to them.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have tutored several students at all levels in my two main subjects.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
