Hi, I'm Alex and I am a Mechanical Engineering student who is providing Maths lessons which cover:
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (Primary level)
Key Stage 3 (Year 7, 8 and 9)
Key Stage 4 (GCSE level)
I am new to personal tutoring which is why my price is low compared to other tutors, I also offer the first lesson to each student for free because I am confident you will want me to return. I maybe new but I am very confident in my academic abilities and ability to teach.
I achieved an A at GCSE Mathematics and an A at GCSE Physics. Now studying Engineering at University means I am very confident and capable of teaching Maths up to a GCSE standard.
I had my own personal tutors at GCSE so have picked up many helpful and healthy methods to get the most out of every student.
I mainly use past exam papers to teach students the content they need to know. Whilst we are going through past papers together, if we encounter an area which the student struggles with we will stop going through the past paper and go through the issue until the student is confident to answer any questions in that area. If the parent/ guardian or student already has a certain topic/ area of maths which they would like me to go through before the lesson starts then we can address the issue straight away until the student's weakness' have turned into a strengths.
I attended Birkdale School from the age of 4 to 18 with a year gap at the age of 10 where I lived and attended school in France.
I love working with young children and Teenagers because I find it very rewarding and can be very amusing, I like to create a friendly atmosphere with those I help.
I have a large have twice worked with before; the first being when I was 16 years of age, teaching squash to children of most ages (8-16 year olds) at the Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club in my home city of Sheffield. My second experience of working with children was on a Wednesday afternoon during Sixth Form where I would walk to the Birkdale Pre-Preparatory School and assist the teachers who are teaching children in Reception (4-5 years old). I would sit with the children and help them with their activities and try to get them to stay focused on their task at hand.
I taught Squash for 1 year at the age of 16 to children of most ages (8-16 year olds).
Whilst at Sixth Form I would help children in reception (4-5 year olds) at my own school's Pre-preparatory school on a Wednesday afternoon.
I am based in Long Benton, Newcastle. Any journeys over 4 miles from Long Benton I would have to charge and additional 75p per mile. Thank you.
Alex is a person of high moral standards and is entirely trustworthy. He is a kind person, with an engaging personality and strongly motivated to help others. He is also very intelligent and an excellent communicator.
