My teaching method with maths is to take a light hearted and relaxed approach. I encourage questions and curiosity in the subject as a way to build confidence and create conversation around maths. I believe my role as a tutor is to fully support my students and give them the time and help they deserve.
Hi, my name is Jessica. I am an artist and tutor living and working in Brighton.
I am in my fourth year of professional contemporary art practice post university; I graduated from Kingston University London with a First Class Degree in Fine Art BA hons. I specialise in digital art and moving image but have advanced experience and skill in painting and drawing.
I have been tutoring professionally for two years, both privately and as a member of agencies. I have taught maths and art at a range of levels and ages (ranging from 10 years old to 35 years old).
I have experience with tutoring SEN students both in a one-to-one setting and in small groups.
I have a full enhanced DBS check that was completed in 2020.
First Class BA Fine Art Hons - Kingston University
B Grade Maths A Level - BHASVIC (Brighton and Hove Sixth Form College)
A* Grade Maths GCSE - The Towers Convent, Steyning
Jess tutors my daughter Kylah, who is currently out of mainstream education. I would give Jess 5 stars as a tutor. She is great and is very able to adapt her tutoring to Kylahs needs. She really tries. She's very enthusiastic about the subject and you can tell that she genuinely enjoys numbers. She is a fun and engaging tutor who shows a lot of dedication on helping Kylah. Kylah can be difficult and will try to distract but Jess is able to keep her engaged and to learn the content.
