I am a 3rd-year engineering student at Queen Mary University and am full of handy tips for acing GSCE and A-Level exams, applying to universities and making a smooth transition into university life.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I study Mechanical Engineering, which consists mostly of practical Physics and Mathematics. I am able to teach at both these subjects at GSCE, A-Level, and 1st-year undergraduate level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I will be completing my degree in Mechanical Engineering next Spring and am currently in the top 5% of my class with a grade average of 85%. I have received a certificate for my role in tutoring and mentoring undergraduate students in PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions).
- How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour or £45 for two hours.
- Where do you teach?
I am able to arrange house visits at students' homes in East London and am willing to travel to most places in Central London against a commuting fee.
- When are you available?
I am typically available in the afternoon and/or evening from Monday to Saturday. However, please do not hesitate to request your desired time slot and I will try my best to accommodate it.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach those who are pursuing their A-Levels and GCSEs. The student's age is of no significance.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare my students for (I)GCSE and A-Level qualifications.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to tutor online and offer a 25% reduced rate on all sessions. I can typically be more flexible with online tutoring hours.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over a year of experience tutoring and mentoring 1st-year undergraduates in an internationally recognised scheme known as PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions). We focus on Maths and Physics and help students with any projects they may have and provide them with the skills to excel in university.
Please see the link (concealed information) for more details.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I found his Maths (Further) & Physics tutoring very useful and productive, targeting the areas of least confidence very effectively and providing the support I need to excel in my exams. Overall, the tutoring was extremely useful! I strongly recommend Gabriel as a personal tutor.
