I give out lessons to GCSE and A-Level Maths students, though any level below A-Level is perfectly acceptable.
Within a lesson, I would test the student's weaknesses, as well as their strengths, to ensure full understanding of the topic. This test would be undergone via carefully-tailored problems that wouldn't typically be found in any old textbook, in order to test the student's application of knowledge. As every student is different, there will be, in turn, a different approach to every lesson with each student.
I don't believe in any silly answers or questions - at the end of the day, they are often the most constructive!
An A-Level student last year, I am a 1st year Maths student at the University of Birmingham. Achieving an A* in A-Level Maths and an A in A-Level Further Maths - alongside grade 3 in the notoriously difficult STEP papers - I believe that I am capable of bringing similar results to people who I teach. Whether it be teaching my friends a maths problem that they've been stuck on, or assisting a student in a classroom environment, I know that my recent experience as an A-Level Maths student will prove invaluable, as I remember the bits of the specification that are more challenging than others, and most importantly, I know what those pesky examiners are looking for!
