I am an experienced performer and dedicated teacher, and am always looking to adapt to individual needs and interests of pupils.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Clarinet (classical or jazz) and Music Theory. I am fluent in English, German, French and Luxembourgish and am happy to teach in either language.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) in 2014 with a Master's Degree in Orchestral Artistry. I also hold a Bachelor of Music (Honours) with distinction from the same institution. Over the course of my studies I have learnt from some of the world's foremost clarinettists and musicians including Andrew Marriner, Nicholas Carpenter and Andrew Webster. I have since held a job in a professional orchestra and have taught students of all ages and abilities.
I was born and raised in Luxembourg and am fluent in English, German, French and Luxembourgish.
- How much do you charge?
Clarinet lesson : £40 (£25 consultation lesson)
Music Theory : £40 (£25 consultation lesson)
Sibelius : £30 (£20 consultation lesson)
- Where do you teach?
I am based in Fulham/Hammersmith, and I am usually happy to travel to my student's houses, especially if they live in neighbouring boroughs (Ealing, Hounslow, Richmond, Wimbledon) Travel costs are not included in the lesson fees.
It might be possible to arrange lessons at my house as well.
- When are you available?
I am available during term time and holidays, given enough notice.
As a freelance musician I have a very flexible time table and am able to offer lessons at various times during the week and at week ends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach pupils of any age or standard.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
On the clarinet and for music theory I can prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity graded exams up to Diploma level and beyond.
I am happy to tutor beginner piano students up to grade 4.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can offer lessons through Skype, although I would only recommend this as a backup to face-to-face lessons.
- What kind of experience do you have?
My teaching experience ranges from individual teaching to group workshops with kids between the ages of 3 up to teenagers and young adults. I would be very happy to teach adults as well!
During my studies at Guildhall, I was part of the Wigmore Hall - Chamber Tots programme, holding music workshops for toddlers and their parents. I have also assisted at LSO Discovery workshops. I was a tutor at the International Music Week in Luxembourg (ISM), and have also been teaching privately since 2010.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I have a DBS check through Southbank Sinfonia, an orchestra of which I have been a member for the past year.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I hold a BMus (Hons) and an MMus degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. My teachers have included : Andrew Marriner, Andrew Webster, Nicholas Carpenter and Julian Farrell.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of Southbank Sinfonia 2016, an orchestra for young professional musicians which enables them to enter the orchestral profession.
