I am qualified and experienced in teaching children with dyslexia, and also children with who are struggling with reading, spelling and/or writing who may not have had an assessment for dyslexia.
I have enjoyed 16 years’ experience as a qualified teacher for children with dyslexia, otherwise known as Specific Learning Difficulties. I love my profession - it is very rewarding to see struggling children master reading, spelling and writing skills under guidance. My teaching is individually tailored to the needs of the child; students are taught in a structured, step-wise and multisensory way, building confidence as they reach achievable learning goals.
Many children have experienced stress from learning in a school setting, so I foster a trusting relationship between myself and the child. I aim to create a safe learning environment without fear of failure. I have enjoyed teaching children from a wide range of backgrounds in both the UK and abroad, including those with English as a second language.
