I am a mechanical engineering consultant with a first class masters degree. I am offering Maths/Physics tutoring in the Nottingham/Deby/Loughborough area.
Methodology
I primarily offer tutoring sessions to GCSE and A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics students. I will base my sessions on the topics recently or currently been covered in your classes to ensure that you fully understand the subject. I will try and intersperse real world applications of the topics that you are covering as I find this helps people to understand and therefore remember otherwise abstract concepts. Depending upon your current progress through the course our sessions will either be problem based learning or exam preparation using past exam papers and developing revision aids and techniques.
Experience
Whilst studying for my mechanical engineering degree I regularly ran STEM activities in secondary schools across the country. Since then I have been working as a consultant design engineer for three years. I am passionate about my subjects and have had both great academic success and extensive practical experience applying these skills in my professional career which will answer the question 'what's the point in learning algebra!'

I can easily provide tutoring in the Nottingham, Loughborough or Derby areas. I am happy to travel elsewhere but I may charge travel expenses.

I am currently an engineering consultant working on the design and manufacture of a range of research and development test rigs for a variety of well known aerospace and academic institutions. This work requires a strong grasp on mathematics and physics as most design work starts out as hand derived equations on the back of an envelope.
First class masters degree in mechanical engineering from Loughborough University. This course heavily focused on the following relevant topics; Maths, Physics, Mechanics, Statistics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics
Whilst studying I regularly ran STEM activities for secondary school students in groups of 20-30. These sessions were hands on design and problem solving activities designed to make STEM subjects more relatable.
I am also a fully qualified SCUBA diving instructor and regularly run courses at Loughborough University which involves a mix of classroom based lessons covering the physics of diving and pool/open water sessions. I have also also worked abroad for three months as an instructor teaching a range of age groups.
