I'm a medical student and I give lessons to primary and secondary school students in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and German.
I recognise that every student is different and therefore providing effective support can only be achieved if there are is a mutual understanding of everyone's role involved in their teaching. I like to start my lessons by discussing the aims and objectives first before diving into the hard work. Once I know the student better I will aim to find the most efficient way to tutor them and give them tips on how to remember topics. My main way of tutoring is focused on past papers.
I have been mentoring several Sixth Form students through the medical application process for four years now, some of whom made it into medical school. So far I've had 14 personal mentees whilst as a team leader being responsible for a total of 40 students overall. In addition I have also tutored young kids of family friends and other students during school, at a level below GCSE.
I am a current fifth year medical student and have already received a BSc in Medical Sciences with Medical Physics and Bioengineering (First Class Honours).
My A-level results were as follows:
- Mathematics: A*
- Biology: A*
- Chemistry: A*
- Physics: A
- German: A
In addition, at the end of school I also received the Excellence at A-level award and the Quincentenary Science Prize for Chemistry.
