My teaching method is to tailor the lessons completely to reflect the syllabus for each examination. I always start the lesson with an overview of the part of the specification that we are aiming to complete and finish the lesson by making sure that the student completely understands those learning objectives. I understand that everybody learns in a different way, so am willing to alter my teaching methods accordingly in regards to the lesson structure. In the past, some students have found that making flashcards with key definitions or difficult concepts as they go through the lesson really helps. Others are more visual learners so benefit from using a whiteboard to demonstrate different ideas.
From past experience, some students completely understand the material, but still struggle in examinations. A key part of my teaching is providing examination style questions or questions from past exams to help the students with their exam technique. Often, the key to getting good marks is understanding the wording of the question and writing an answer that includes the specific marking points. This means that there is no ambiguity for the examiner and the student will gain the maximum number of marks.
I am a friendly and enthusiastic medical student who has been tutoring for the past two years. All of my students have achieved at least two grades above their predicted grades in the subjects that I have tutored them in. I enjoy helping children to reach their full potential and I understand that the school environment does not always work for every child. For that reason, my lessons are adapted to suit the needs of the individual.

Science Ambassador 2017 - 2019:
I was a science ambassador at my sixth form college and ran a science club for children in years seven to eleven. Having struggled with biology for a while, I felt under-confident about my ability, but Freya was always patient and friendly. She would also answer any questions that I had and would explain concepts in a way that would be easier for me to understand.
