Lessons will be held in a Cafe on the university of Birmingham Campus. I like to start from first principles when tackling areas that students find more challenging in order to develop a deeper level of understanding. I will initially assess the student’s level and make a plan from there to optimise progress. I would appreciate students letting me know if there are particular topics they would like to cover in advance of each lesson so that I can prepare resources to bring with me. I will vary my lessons based on how the student learns best, this also helps to keep them interesting. There will often be a small amount of teaching from me, and a lot of interaction, working on cases or practice questions. I will encourage a small amount of prep from the student between sessions, but this will always be optional so as not to cause unnecessary stress. If I am tutoring the student in a particular subject they should still feel free to bring (or email me in advance) of any material from other subjects that they are stuck on and I will have a go at helping out.
I am a second year medical student who has always loved to learn. I have tutored 2 students in mathematics for a year, at GCSE, and at primary school level. I am experienced communicating with a range of people and will personalise my teaching plans and style so that your child can understand and engage whatever their ability.
The subjects I am offering to A-level students are chemistry and biology, I gained an A* and an A respectively in these subjects at A-level. As a medical student I am continually expanding my knowledge of these subjects and I would hope to inspire your child to be as passionate about them as I am. I am always keen to share my experience of medical school and answer any questions my students may have.
If you require teaching in other subjects up to GCSE I would love to help. I achieved A* in Maths, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Spanish, Art and short course Religious Education. I also gained an A in English literature and the top grade in my Additional maths FSMQ. Alongside the biology and chemistry A-levels, I also obtained a B in maths ( a high A at AS level) and a C in Spanish. Let me know what kind of level your child is working at and aiming for and I will let you know if I am the right person to help.

I am currently a 2nd year medical student at the University of Birmingham. I am extremely passionate about my subject and am really enjoying both the academic and extracurricular side to university.
Before this I attended Brine Leas Sixth Form where I achieved A*,A, B, C at A-level. During this time I also worked as a Pharmacy assistant and gained medicine counter and dispensing qualifications, volunteered at a local hospital and tutored 2 students in mathematics.
My hobbies include swimming, climbing, art and anything to do with the outdoors. At university I maintain a very strong work life balance. I am events coordinator for the Wilderness Medicine Society and work hard as part of a team to arrange exciting events such as hikes and socials relate to the field. I attend art sessions as part of Artsoc at the uni and have recently learned to surf through Brumsurf. I include all of this information because I think it is vital to remain balanced and varied even during your studies and will always encourage my students to look after their stress levels during exams through exercise, relaxation and having fun.
