Hi, I am a second year medical student at King’s College London. I have been a tutor for a year now and have taught students from primary school level to A-level.
Before sessions, we'll discuss what you'd like to cover and achieve, to ensure a productive use of time. At the start, I will give you a topic overview and then we can do some exam questions to find out which areas need more work and to develop a good exam technique. I always try to be enthusiastic and make sessions enjoyable so that you will be more engaged and therefore grasp the concepts better.
In the past year, I have completed around 100 hours of tuition for students from primary school level to A-level.
I have mentored young students on a one-to-one basis at school during classes as well as Year 12 students with their AS Biology during lunchtimes.
Volunteering with young children whilst in Australia at an after-school club, gave me experience in dealing with younger children as well as simplifying concepts to make them more understandable.
The idea of being able to empower people with simple knowledge so that they can continue with their own learning and development is something that I love and hope to be able to practice.
I attended Haybridge High School and Sixth Form, where I completed my GCSEs and A-levels.
GCSE: 9 A*, A, B, Free Standing Maths Qualification (A)
AS-level: Biology (A); Chemistry (A); Maths (A); Further Maths (A)
A-level: Biology (A); Chemistry (A); Maths (A); Further Maths (A)
Piano: Grade 7
I have volunteered around the globe and these experiences have shaped me over the years. These places include:
Westley Court Care Home - Kidderminster, UK
Mununjali Kid's Club - Queensland, Australia
Jaffna Teaching Hospital - Sri Lanka.
In addition to my tutoring experience, I've also mentored students in high school and first year students at university, giving me exposure to various age groups!
